Pedro Elías defines his particular soundscapes with the term "drift" . These "drifts" are works that are born together with the sounds of the city and are returned him back, appearing in the city itself, in a street or a square. The term "drift" is directly related to the situationist "drift" concept. In the words of Pedro Elías "no music exists by itself in the city , none but the music defined by the "drift" . Listening to the city does not consist in the repetition of the sounds invariably fixed, on the contrary, this listening projects into possible sounds . The drift sounds with the city sounds, it doesn't only listen them together with the (con-) text, but creates other possibilities of tridimensional listening, being such open indefinitely to the plurality of the senses.

-excerpt from the book "Sound Images: A multisensory reading on 20th-century art
by Javier Ariza Pomareta

Situationists: Michèle Bernstein, Asger Jorn, Colette Caillard, and Guy Debord

Enrico Piva - Late November Dream (EGK - EGK 022, C60, 1987)

Italian artist specifically from Brescia who left us amazing sound works. It's a real pleasure for me to have opportunity to share this cassette, thanks to Francisco Lopez, which was released 1987 on EGK, Spanish Esplendor Geometrico's label.

Enrico Piva (1956-2002) was one of the original investigators in the panorama of Italian independent music of the eighties dressed in the full figure of the outsider and, creating musique concrète, conceptual, field recording, minimalism electronic, post-industrial noise and has published twenty audiocasettes for various Italian and international labels between 1981 and 1990.
For example as Unit 06 contributing on TRAXTRA compilation by mail-art TRAX platform for exchange and collaboration across great geographical distances, held by Vittore Baroni,  Piermario Ciani (1951-2006) and  Massimo Giacon from project Spirocheta Pergoli from 1981-1987. All interested in closer look of  TRAX's concept - CLICK HERE or HERE.

On the basis of artistic studies, Piva produced drawings, lithographs, research photography (scotography) and video, as well as literary texts, including unpublished experimental text "Piscine sommerse ed altre immersioni" which is among other works related to Enrico Piva presented HERE (sadly only in Italian!).

El Coleccionista De Poliedros - Cacofonías Egipánicas (Laboratorios del sueño, C60, 1986)

El Collecionista De Poliedros (Juan Escolano) is creating sounds by electronic and non-electronic

intruments, the final product are harsh industrial sounds and contemporary environments.

His music is essentially random and improvised with the help of

electronics that is #1 and the most important factor as well as utilization of

noise and different objects of daily use that may cause noise mainly

based on the experiments carried out by the Italian and Russian Futurists and later by Dada movement

Juan has been in fields such as collage, painting, mail art, sculpture, graphics,

music fanzines, books of expression, etc...

Cacofonías Egipánicas is recorded live by mic stand with very basic and simple systems.

Javier Maderuelo - Madrid Vivo (Colectivo Cyan, 1982)

Javier Maderuelo, professor of art, belonged to "ZACH" experimental art group, together with José Luis Castillejo. Both were linked to the movement "FLUXUS" .
I guess Maderuelo worked with Francisco Felipe and Jose Iges and other names of conteporary art.

'Madrid Vivo es una obra musical creada expresamente para ambientar una exposición: "Sólo Madrid Arte Joven", que el colectivo CYAN realizó sobre el tema de Madrid.
Se trata de una música de amueblamiento que cumple una función determinada, y no de una mera ilustración sonora.'

Madrid Vivo is the musical work created to host an exhibition "Sólo Madrid Arte Joven" by collective CYAN on the theme of Madrid. The music has distinguished role in a performance, it's not  merely a sound base.

Limited edition of 100 copies.

Thank you, Francisco Lopez.

Felix Menkar - Primer Ejercicio (Las Cintas Del Fin - LCDF 04, C50, 1986)

Dreaming, visual by Felix Menkar, 2013
Felix Menkar was born in Barcelona and lives in Valencia since 1990.
Field researcher, diver between words and images, resistant recalcitrant critical companion, creator of links between art and poetry, between generations, ideologies and aesthetic.
Total non-art art as objective, respect as praxis, curiosity as impulse, heterodoxy as limit, the imperfection as model, life as stage combat.

'Felix Menkar nació en Barcelona y reside en Valencia desde 1990. Investigador de la esfera, buceador entre palabras en imágenes, recalcitrante resistente y compañero crítico, creador de nexos entre arte y poesía, entre generaciones, ideologías y estetícas. El no-arte total como objectivo, el respeto como praxis, la curiosidad como impulso, la heterodoxia como limite, la imperfeccion como modelo, la vida como escenario del combate.'

Thanks to Francisco Lopez's archive.

La Otra Cara De Un Jardín is Francisco Felipe, an multidisciplinary artist born in 1961 in Palencia, Spain. He studied at the Art Academy in Dusseldorf, where he lives since 1987.
Francisco has been extremely active since the beginning of the 80`s in the artistic fields of sound art, mail art, performance and installation. Co-founder with Jose Iges of Ars Sonora in 1985, a radio program that airs on Radio Clásica (RNE). Zell Republik - Existe un hermoso país en su cabeza (Weimar Tapes/Toracic Tapes, Limited Edition, 1989/1989)

Zell Republik is Juan Pablo Monreal, also known as Proletkult and owner of Weimer Tapes, being  addressed in Madrid, Spain. 'Existe un hermoso país en su cabeza' was mixed and recorded in Plastic Studios in 1989 and besides being on WT, it was also released on Toracic Tapes by Miguel A. Ruiz in the same year.
Abstract music of 60s, musique concrete, dark ambient (but not in classical way) like and very dark in particular for the Spanish release.

Ambulatorio Segreto - Cardiotrak / Neuroconnector (Toracic Tapes, 1990)

A collaboration named Ambulatorio Segreto is a project which constitute three marvellous musicians Siegmar Fricke from Wilhelmshaven (North West Germany), Miguel A. Ruiz from Madrid (Spain) and Stefano Barban from Cavazzale (North Italy), the trio whom we are thankful for an impressive music on k7 back in the end of 80's / early 90's as well as they all left us a great casket of tracks under different pseudos (either as solo projects and collaborations). Their nine?+ cassettes were released on Toracic Tapes and Bestattungsinstitut and two of them I've heard so far differ from each other a lot.
In short, Cardiotrack / Neuroconnector is a smooth electronic release permeated with emphasized funky beats, vocal samples and a sufficient dose of gloom that was mixed in Toracic Studio (Madrid) in September. For an unknown reason I felt enormous pleasure listening to it in a car at night as an intro to another release I like to call it's younger fraternal twin - Alaska Show by Doc Wor Mirran and De Fabriek.

Noche En Bombay - Primer Catálogo De Rumores (El Consumo Del Miedo, 1980)

"In Memoriam" Louis Bromfield, en el centenario de su nacimiento.

Noche En Bombay is a side project devoted to manipulated field recordings by Spanish sound and video artist Rafael Flores, also known as Comando Bruno, ECDM and collaborator with Diseno Corbusier (accurately, he participate in their three tracks and when he left the group, Javier appears), an avant-garde electronic project along with his companions Ani Zinc and Javier G. Marin. His inexhaustible activity is noted in a lot of solo releases, collaborations with cult artists of experimental music and cult cassette labels.
It's unknown on how many compilations Flores contributated his work as Noche En Bombay. The only one I'm familiar with is International Sound Communication Compilation Volume 12 (26 July 1986) compiled and distributed as a mail art project by Andi Xport from Peterborough, England in the mid 1980s.
Primer Catalogo De Rumores is a neat musical experimentation that in a way made me think of earliest Maurizio Bianchi.
