ANDREAS HOFFMANN fue un artista, escritor, músico, diseñador gráfico y colaborador frecuente con ASMUS TIETCHENS, HORST PETERSEN Y KLAUS HOEPPNER. Nació en 1957 y murió el 6 de septiembre de 1998. Precisamente de la colaboración con Klaus Hoeppner nace, a finales de la década de los 70, este proyecto de sonido electrónico experimental llamado CINÉMA VÉRITÉ, con el que tocaron muchas teclas (y nunca mejor dicho) dentro del panorama underground. 

La cinta que os ofrezco lleva por título DER WIESSE RAUSCH, la editó el extraordinario sello italiano ADN TAPES y tiene de todo: sonido industrial, Tecno-Pop underground, tratamiento vocal, collages, texturas, ambientes fabriles, atmósferas de todo tipo... Son 28 temas tan diferentes como exquisitos, personalmente no sabría elegir uno por miedo a desmerecer el resto.

Here's something you won't see every day: some extremely early work of

the infamous roger karmanik, recording as enhanta bodlar (bomb the

daynursery)! obviously, if one is expecting the usual doom'n'gloom that

has come to characterize the sound of brighter death now, you'll be in

for a surprize. it's very primitive (keep in mind roger was but a

youth when he recorded this), but if you enjoyed the recent re-release

of "discipline through mental-illness" on cmi, then this might be right

up your alley. either way, now you can save your hard-earned 

(or perhaps not?) cash and use it to buy some other equally obscure 

(and vastly overpriced) release on ebay. by the way, my cassette was

numbered 8, but no idea what the edition size was. odds are this is

just my "personal number", as karmanik put it, and in no way gives one

an adequite idea of how many there are in existence.

El amigo CHORBYRADIO me ha hecho llegar un par de joyitas de HUMAN LEAGUE y yo paso a compartirlas como es debido.

HUMAN LEAGUE, otro de esos grupos ingleses de música electrónica que nunca debieron dejar su faceta experimental.

The Human League fueron la versión anglosajona de lo que se cocía en la Alemania de D.A.F., DER PLAN, MALARIA, LIAISONS DANGEREUSES... en un momento en el que las nuevas tendencias aparecidas tras el punk sentaban las bases de lo que sería años más tarde la New Wave.

Al igual que Ultravox, Joy Division, Numan y tantos otros, The Human League aparecieron en plena efervescencia punk desmarcándose de lo establecido con nuevos sonidos y nuevas tecnologías, pero Marsh y Ware fueron mucho más allá que sus coetáneos, apostando por un sonido frío, mecánico y sin demasiadas concesiones, muy al estilo Düsseldorf, pero mientras los chicos de Kraftwerk ya empezaban a saborear las mieles del éxito con sus himnos dedicados a los robots y a las modelos, The Human League exprimían al máximo su perfecto "puente" entre la industrialidad de sus vecinos Cabaret Voltaire y el pop sintético más comercial que ya empezaba a asomar en el Reino Unido.

Este CD que os presento contiene el cassette "THE TAVERNER TAPE" grabado en la primavera de 1979. Se usó puramente como una cinta de demostración, que Human League presentó a las compañías discográficas en su búsqueda de un sello que le pudiera ofrecer el apoyo financiero que necesitaban en aquellos momentos.
El tema "Dominion Jingle" se utiliza ampliamente en todo el cassette (que aparece después de cada canción, excepto en "You've Lost That Lovin 'Feeling") y el diálogo también proporcionado por Philip, que se presenta como un presentador de televisión ficticio "Jason Taverner". Este nombre fue casi seguramente tomado de la novela de Philip K. Dick, "Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said", que también cuenta con un presentador de televisión llamado Jason Taverner.
El casete no se titula en realidad "The Taverner Tape", porque carecía de título, pero debido al diálogo ficticio del imaginario presentador, ha acabado adoptando esta denominación.

PREMATURE EJACULATION    1981-1998

The roots of Premature Ejaculation stretch as far back as 1981, when while on hiatus from Christian Death, Rozz Williams and Ron Athey began experimenting with tape loops and noise. From the onset, live events were performance art presentations that often left the audience disgusted and horrified. While the intent was to shock and throw out the rules of convention - it wasn't long before venues refused to book Premature Ejaculation.

After Rozz shelved Christian Death in 1985, he returned to the project, and continued to pursue tape manipulation and manufacturing layers of noise. He teamed himself with Chuck Collison and soon began releasing material through the independant label, Happiest Tapes on Earth, and eventually again performing live shows.

Despite Rozz's hectic schedule with touring and recording for various projects, he'd often return to Premature Ejaculation for a series of recordings, releases and performancnces. He and Chuck continued to work together into the mid-1990's.

The posthumous release "Wound Of Exit" exhibited the range Premature Ejaculation had developed over 15 years of recordings; from tape loops of household appliances to rich, full textures of sound and electronic samples.

Rozz's final recordings were completed by Chuck Collison for the Nico B. film, "Pig".

In 2009, several recordings were purchased by John Collins that contained unreleased noise material that spanned Rozz's career. As John set about laying down the foundations to bring these recordings to light, it was discovered that Ron Marrs contained an additional eight cassettes of unreleased material. Collectively, the recordings became, "Rozz Williams: The Lost Recordings". After being painstakingly remastered and the artwork restored to it's original designs - the material began to surface in 2010. The releases will continue into at least 2012...ensuring years of new discoveries for Rozz's fans.

Das Synthetische Mischgewebe started in the early 80's in Berlin with electronic, industrial, avant-garde associated cassette releases. A first LP on the outstanding Madrid based label Discos Esplendor Geometrico was followed by CD and vinyl releases on SFCR (F), and Pinch-A-Loaf and Povertech (USA). DSM also did projects with MSBR, Mnortham, Frans de Waard, Ios Smolders, Artificial Memory Trace, Thomasius, TBC, The Oval Language and others. The duo participated in a pile of compilations including a 2009 2CD on Suitcase (USA). Several of their earlier cassette works have been reissued on limited edition vinyl pressings on the German Vinyl On Demand label.

Text inside: The music on this cassette is related to, but isn't, the soundtrack of 'El Pez-Vidriera' (The Fish-Churchwindow), a peformance given in the fishseller's section of a market in Barcelona. The performance is based on a story of a man who enters a world in which everything is reduced to a sort of paralysis, drifting slowly, without will. The man finds these forms very attractive and wishes to become part of them. He realizes the danger inherent in this form of existence, but sees clearly in recollection that he has seldom really steered his life. The man lies down and becomes sleepy, but dreams quite badly. An unidentifiable screaming awakens him. He stands and has to realize that this world was and is a reflection of his own.
